John Legend visits Ronald McDonald House in Hawaii to celebrate its 50th anniversary

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Award-winning musician John Legend visited the Ronald McDonald House in Hawaii this month to help the organization celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) on Tuesday announced a partnership with Legend to commemorate the anniversary.
Legend, who recently performed a concert at the Blaisdell Arena, hosted the “50 Years of Ohana” event in Hawaii, where he participated in a traditional lei making activity and decorated T-shirts with RMHC families.
The singer-songwriter is a longtime supporter of RMHC, the nonprofit that cares for families with ill or injured children across more than 60 countries and regions.
“As a longtime RMHC supporter, I’m proud to partner with the organization to celebrate 50 years of mission delivery,” John Legend said, in a statement.
“My family understands the importance of having access to quality healthcare and a strong support system firsthand, reinforcing our commitment to supporting RMHC and their vision of a world where every family has what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children.”
The organization opened its first Ronald McDonald House on Oct. 15.
Legend will be performing at the RMHC Global 50th Anniversary Gala in Chicago on Nov. 16.
